Launch of Interactive Nursing History Website

Dr Lydia Wytenbroek, Co-Lead of the Consortium for Nursing History at UBC Nursing, would like to share the launch of an interactive nursing history website. The project was created by Dr. Lydia Wytenbroek and 6 graduate students over a 2 year period, was funded by UBC Nursing Anti-Racism Committee, and involved more than 45 people. In the project, we continuously make the connection between history, power and privilege. We do so to better enact our value of social justice, to understand and dismantle systems of oppression, and to provide better care for our patients. Our interactive experience asks you (the user) to answer the question: Is nursing colonialism or social justice? This is an opportunity for users to reflect on nursing history from a decolonizing and anti-racist lens and to consider which and what and whose nursing histories do we wish to tell. There are 11 videos embedded in the website (though it maY take some time to locate them all).

You can access the experience herehttps://blogs.ubc.ca/nursinghistory/2024/09/25/untelling-nursing-history-centering-the-voices-of-ibpoc-nurses/  Ciick on "Play on itchio.io" and then "Run game"
